Classic Institute of Skills Development

Classic Institute of Skills Development is the vision, mission, passion and a pioneering initiative of ‘Classic’ Mr. Athappan Sundaram and his family who created Classic Foundation. Classic Foundation is a non-Profit Trust founded by Mr. Athappan Sundaram and his spouse Gnanambal, to give back to the society a chunk of their wealth accrued through their hard work, dedication, and passion. Besides them, their daughters Indhumathi Athappan and Ishwarya Athappan are also part of this mission. Currently, the Classic Foundation is helping children of their employees and families to enjoy happy Schooling/College.

The Classic Institute of Skills Development is situated in Kalyanapuram, Tennur, a calm and picturesque area in the heart of Trichy. Mr. Athappan Sundaram’s vision is to provide a World-Class Institute for Skills Development which will become a landmark in Skill Development for children and youth.

With world class amenities, harmonious ambience surrounded by greenery, Classic Skills Development Institute stands in a 49 cents area, ensures a calm atmosphere and lush green ambience, conducive for ideal learning. The campus has a classroom block and an office block totalling to 15600 sq.ft. Nature prevails over the campus ensuring a positive vibe.

Personality Development and Leadership Courses conducted in the institute ensure Character-building. By shaping children, Classic Institute aims to shape the future of the nation. Classic Institute specialises in courses that are holistic, focusing on the Body, Mind and Soul. Outdoor activities and Team-building events are planned with the excellent facilities, in the safe and serene campus of Classic Institute of Skills Development. As part of Residential Camps, Outdoor events such as Hiking and Bird Watching will be incorporated within the program. Classic Institute of Skills Development will focus on building confidence and guiding students to move ahead with a focus on goals and would make their lives purposeful.
Language Enhancement: To expand horizons for children and young people, Classic Institute aims at Language enhancement, enrichment and empowerment courses focusing on English, Hindi, Japanese, Korean to begin with and German in future. The Institute will also bring together Tamil Enthusiasts to enable them to enjoy Tamil Brahmi, Vatteluttu and Grantha Scripts.

Memory Enhancement: Classic Institute will conduct Memory and IQ Boosting Courses, Parenting Workshops and Career Guidance through Talent Quest
Classic Skills Development Institute houses best facilitators with expertise in their domain and willingness to impart skills to youth beyond the realm of academics to empower them. Classic Institute has identified exemplary Knowledge and Skill Partners such as Nikhil Foundation, Madurai, Akram Global Languages Institute Private Limited, Chennai and Breakthrough Bengaluru to move forward in this journey.

Regular Courses during After-School Hours, Weekend Classes and Holiday Camps will be the mode of reaching out to the children. Classic Institute will move forward in this mission with like-minded entities in and around, Trichy

The Skills Development Institute is initiated in a 49 cents area, which inspite of being in the heart of city boasts a calm atmosphere and lush greenery conducive for an ideal learning. Here, the focus will not be in exam, marks and competitiveness but to inculcate in children, the values, traits and behaviour like Cooperation, Coordination, Teamwork, which helps them lead a holistic life. Many youth today enjoy the experience of winning but are depressed and take tragic decisions while losing. We at Classic Institute of Skills Development will focus on counselling and guiding students that winning or losing are just part of life and they need to move ahead with a focus on goals that makes their life purposeful. The campus has a classroom block and an office block totalling to 15600 sq.ft. Nature prevails over the campus ensuring a positive vibe.

Currently the Classic Foundation is helping children of Kwality shutters and Classic Foods families to enjoy happy Schooling/College.

Our Story

Our Aim

The aim of this Skills Development Institute is to impart skills to students and children which are beyond academics. Besides the Skills Development Institute, Mr. Athappan Sundaram also runs two tertiary centres, in his native village of Sirukoodalpatti in Sivagangai District and another at his in-law’s place of Kilasevalpatti. In these two tertiary centres the foundation runs two computer centres for children to impart knowledge in soft skills, together with an Ro plant for the village.

Our Mission

Mr. Athappan Sundaram’s dreams have always been to serve the people and educate the younger generation especially those kids who have glitters in their eyes but no means to achieve their dreams. He wanted to provide them with the opportunity to interact with the best human brains and share their skills sets. Thus the foundation and the skills Institute will empower the common youth to lead a life filled with confidence and thereby achieve their dreams.

Unique About CISD

What is unique about the institute is that, it is set in a natural setting with bamboo amphitheatre surrounded by coconut, mango, guava, custard apple trees besides a lush green lawn.

The institute also provides classrooms equipped with interactive learning panels and a computer centre for fast- paced learning.

Mr. Athappan not only carries hope in his eyes and smile in his lips with dreams touching the sky and keeping the head high, he promotes this Skills Institute to be the best in this part of the country.
